About the Prints for Wildlife Photographer: Mike Sutherland

Mike’s journey in the bush began when he was very young. Like most young South African families, he often visited the Kruger National Park and other reserves around the country. Here, he spent time with loved ones around the fire, telling stories and learning the beauty of the nature we have on our doorsteps.

In 2010, he began his career as a guide, where he discovered the wonders of the bush and the great joy that accompanies sharing its magic with others. Mike has worked at luxury lodges all over South Africa and in 2015, Mike left the bush and began private guiding and planning luxury safaris. Since then he has guided guests all over the African continent.

His photographic journey has evolved from being a novice, self-taught photographer, to now hosting photographic trips all over the continent of Africa, imparting the love and skills of photography wherever he goes.

To him, a true safari experience is about family, laughter, exploration, learning and fun. Coupled with wildlife, photography and storytelling, one can create more than just a getaway, but an experience that lasts a lifetime.
